As part of our normal, ongoing customer services, Quincy Joist Company provides our customers with design engineering/detailing for all products we sell and manufacture.  In addition, we provide ‘Joist Placement Plans’ to facilitate the structural fabricator’s coordination with the erector and to insure proper coordination with other trades. 

To insure correct, timely delivery, our Project Managers provide a single point-of-contact for each project – no matter how large or small.  Our On-Line Integration (OPI) system allows the customer to follow the progress on-line, through the WEB.  This 24/7 ability gives our customers the ability to keep up to date on project events and status.

Our sales/engineering staff, located in Sales Offices throughout the United States, stands ready to assist with value-engineering or design assistance to insure optimum utilization of your budget dollars in consideration of your building’s design requirements.  We work with our clients to insure their ultimate satisfaction.

For those customers with urgent building requirements or a ‘Fast Track’ opportunity, we provide the flexibility to ‘expedite’ their delivery.

Detailing/Design Engineering

Quincy Joist Company engineers prepare drawings supported by engineering calculations that interpret the specifications, as prepared by the Engineer of Record (EOR), into the specific details necessary to manufacture open-web steel joists and girders.  Our drawings provide the structural erectors with the information on joist placement and the various connections with beams, wall embeds, others joists or girders.  Once the drawings are completed, they are submitted to the EOR for approval.  After these drawings have been approved, engineering calculations are prepared to support the design of the joist and/or joist girders.

Value Assist Engineering/Design

This service is provided at no cost with the specific intent to lower the cost of construction to the building owner or developer.  Our District Sales Managers, located in Sales Offices through out the United States, in conjunction with our Engineering staff, located at each plant, provide building owners, general contractors, and steel fabrication companies design assistance in order to optimize their building’s structural design within the load characteristics laid out by the Engineer Of Record (EOR).  Once the optimization is finalized, the EOR is consulted for final approval.

Project Management

Project Management teams at each manufacturing site provide a single point of contact for each project and customer.  Once a project is under contract, the Project Manager is involved in every aspect of the project – right through engineering, manufacturing and delivery to the site.  Our Project Managers each possess years of construction, steel and manufacturing experience.  They are trained in building codes and proper installation procedures of our products.

Expedited Delivery

Our customers are very important to Quincy Joist Company, and we recognize the need from time to time to expedite the entire process.  As such, our District Sales Managers work with the Project Management Team (including engineering and manufacturing departments) to ensure accelerated delivery on key projects.  Often times this requires changes to our normal scheduling, overtime production, and expedited transportation.  As a company, we value ongoing customer relationships and will do everything possible to meet their needs and construction requirements.
